Kernow Cyber School is an online learning community providing an essential service for pupils who, for whatever reason, cannot attend a conventional school. Pupils are able to access a number of GCSE courses taught online live including English, English Literature, Maths, Science (double), Spanish and ICT. KCS is part of CHES but is available to schools who wish pupils to access online learning for pupils who do not have a medical diagnosis but would benefit from this provision.
Experienced and creative teachers provide live lessons for up to 8 students at a time, delivering their GCSE subject, as a rule, in one year or less. Expectations are very high and the live lessons are often supported by staff home visits that offer support in terms of assessment, coursework, revision sessions and mock papers. We also liaise closely with Careers South West to ensure that our students maximize their post 16 options so that re-integration goes hand in hand with GCSE qualifications.
